North Lakes - North South Arterial
In Conjunction with Civil Contractors the construction of the North South Arterial at North Lakes continues. Components of this project include the construction of storm water drainage ranging from 375mm to 1500mm and associated structures including numerous non standard manholes. The pipe work and structures are all constructed to Main Roads standards. The installation of 450mm trunk water main and valve pits and the installation of a 2m CDS unit are also included in the project. These works also involve works at existing intersections at Kinsellas Road, Anzac Avenue and Discovery drive, where works are being undertaken under traffic. This also involved the demolition, removal and in some instances, the alteration of existing pipes and structures.
Rock Excavation has also played a major part during construction with approximately 1000m3 of rock being excavated using both ripper and rock hammer.
To ensure the completion of this project in the time required by the principle contractor, MCQ have commited up to three crews working in close proximity on different portions of work. This allows the partnership between Civil Contractors and MCQ to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome
